All of the — many, many — candidates who have put forth their names are listed on the pages for the five districts. A number of candidates whose names appeared in the lists published by KUNA do not appear on the (newly updated) website at the ministry of Interior. These individuals may have withdrawn before registration came to a close, though the ministry lists only one candidate who has withdrawn (as of now). In any case I have removed those whose names do not appear in the list at the ministry of the interior. I will clean up the data further as more information becomes available.

Posted the names of those who registered on the 9th day of registration…

Days 7 & 8 of registration are up. I tweaked the page so that it displays former deputies (including those in the invalidated assemblies) first, then former candidates who did not win election, then the (many) new candidates.

Candidates who registered on the sixth day of registration are up.

Candidates registered on Day 5 have been posted.

On day 4 of registration 47 candidates put their names forward, including several notable members of the Majority in the February 2012 National Assembly, among them Muhammad Dallal and Waleed al-Tabtabaei.

I have added pages for each of the five districts that show the candidates who have registered during the first three days of registration for the upcoming elections. These are based on lists from KUNA, al-Qabas and al-Rai. If past elections are any guide, there are likely some errors in these data. These will be cleaned up as registration proceeds.

It’s time for elections! And the opposition is participating, so this should be interesting.
